LYC Mother & Child Centre

Danga Bay / Straits View · Chinese confinement (TCM), corporate healthcare group

Independent facts, not a sponsored listing. No centre pays to appear here. Everything below carries its date and source, and the things we couldn't verify are listed as exactly that.

What it is

Chinese confinement (TCM), corporate healthcare group, 8–12 minutes from the Causeway checkpoint off-peak.

Level 2, Avenue M, 16 Jalan Bertingkat Skudai, Straits View, 80200 Johor Bahru

The rooms: 71 rooms — Deluxe 360–420 sq ft, Premier 420–460 sq ft, VIP suites 800–960 sq ft, all private with attached bathrooms

The price picture: The wide range is really three room tiers plus suites — a September 2025 customer told CNA she paid close to RM20,000 with meals and diapers included, which matches the Deluxe tier.

Price sources: Official site · CNA, Oct 2025 · Motherhood 2026 directory · Customer stay report (Lemon8) · Water/heater complaint post (Lemon8, Jan 2026)

What the package includes

  • Five meals daily, TCM-designed with herbal soups
  • 24-hour nursery care
  • Weekly doctor visits
  • In-house lactation and dietitian support

Language & diet

English and Chinese in sales; Mandarin, English and Malay likely in operations. Chinese-confinement menu. No halal certification or pork-free assurance published — ask for a written dietary policy.

What parents report

  • Praised: Large rooms
  • Praised: Organised nursery
  • Praised: Responsive caregivers
  • Praised: Food convenience, pump and bottle sterilisation
  • Meals reported repetitive by some guests
  • Some wellness services charged as extras
  • One January 2026 customer post alleged discoloured water and heater/service problems — a single account, not a verified finding; ask the centre directly

What nobody publishes — ask before the deposit

These aren't criticisms; they're the questions the whole market leaves unanswered. Get them in writing.

  • Baby-to-nurse ratio
  • Current deposit and refund schedule
  • Visitor and overnight-companion rules
  • Halal/pork kitchen policy

Licensing, plainly

Part of LYC Healthcare, an identifiable corporate group advertising registered nurses. No separate public Act 586 licence for the accommodation centre was found (ordinary confinement centres generally fall outside the Act).

There's no universal government licence for ordinary confinement centres in Malaysia — here's how that actually works, and the four questions that matter more.

Booking window

3–6 months; earlier for Premier/VIP rooms and auspicious or school-holiday months. HSBC ran a package promotion through July 2026 — active advance sales.
